Ref. AfSBT 10th International Congress, Dakar 2020
The health, safety and well-being of our congress’ attendees and staff are extremely important to the AfSBT, hence, the AfSBT was closely monitoring, on a daily basis, the worldwide evolvement of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and associated travel and quarantine restrictions.
Though the situation in Senegal is still stable, to date, with only 4 confirmed cases (imported cases), but with the pandemic status declared by the WHO recently and trajectories seen in other countries, we decided to postpone (not to cancel) the AfSBT 10th International Congress that was scheduled to be conducted in Dakar, Senegal during the period from 20 to 23 April 2020 to a later date during 2020.
The new date for the congress will be shared with all our partners as soon as the pandemic status declared by WHO is revoked and this date will consider the agenda of comparable international events and will consider enough time to re-establish relevant logistical arrangements. Should you have any individual or specific concerns regarding your future participation, we can discuss bilaterally how we can proceed. Meanwhile, we will continue our soft congress preparations and arrangements to be ready to embark our congress as soon as the situation resolves.
We confirm again that the health and safety of our attendees and partners are our most important priority. As such, the AfSBT will continue to closely monitor the developing situation and commits itself to providing regular updates to our community.
We are very grateful for the ongoing support of our speakers, sponsors, and attendees who continue to register and plan for the event, we really count on your understanding, cooperation and flexibility.
